The Art Deco Era is famous for being the “Gatsby” or “Roaring Twenties” Era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period. Peridot is known as one of the oldest gem stones known to man dating back to 1500 BC. The gem stone was used a lot in Ancient Egyptian culture as they were known to mine a gorgeous green stone on an Island off of the Red Sea, now known as St. John’s Island of Zabargad. Throughout history this gorgeous green gem stone has been confused with Emeralds in multiple famous occurrences such as the famous 200 Cts of gems adorning the shrine of The Three Kinds in Germany’s Cologne Cathedral which were Peridot’s confused as Emeralds, and it is even rumored that Cleopatra’s famous Emerald collection was in fact comprised of Peridot gem stones. These earrings are hallmarked by their original makers, the French company La Triomphe! The Peridot gem stones in this piece are all. Marquise cut and show case gorgeous facets that reflect light.
